Things To Do

WHAT YOU CAN’T MISS - Kilmainham Gaol - Kilmainham Gaol is a former prison located in Kilmainham in Dublin, which is now a museum. It has been run since the mid-1980s by the Office of Public Works (OPW), an Irish Government agency. Kilmainham Gaol played an important part in Irish history, as many leaders of Irish rebellions were imprisoned and some executed in the prison by the British. Leaders of the rebellions of 1798, 1803, 1848, 1867 and 1916 were detained here. If for no other reason, Kilmainham Gaol would be remarkable for being the biggest unoccupied gaol in these islands. -WHERE TO GET FOOD AND DRINKS - The Mezz - Set in the heart of Temple bar, Mezz Bar is the perfect spot to explore Dublin nightlife. Live music and free entry seven nights a week are guaranteed! The Mezz is very popular among locals and tourists mostly because of its live music. Feeling peckish? The Mezz offers tasty food at great prices, so you can also stop by for a great lunch or dinner. - WORTH A VISIT - Iveagh Gardens - Designed by Ninian Niven, in 1865, The Iveagh Gardens are among the finest and least known of Dublin's parks and gardens. The gardens display a diverse collection of landscape features, which include rustic grottos, sunken formal panels of lawn with fountain centerpieces, wilderness, woodlands, a maze, a rosarium, an American garden, archery grounds and rockeries.
